In the over-saturated hip hop realm of throwback gimmicks and bleak failures glossed and packaged as “creative and groundbreaking”, it has become difficult for many of today’s emcees to pull themselves above the throng and deliver anthems that convey street authenticity as well as creative evolution. Tone Liv, a.k.a Da Mayor, manages to crawl his way out of the malaise of this wasteland of clichés and deliver on both fronts in a way that captivates without alienating; despite the fact that Tone may very well be from another planet. Or maybe just New Jersey. In a state that has spawned such historic rap powerhouses as Redman, Rah Digga, and the Artifacts; Tone is determined to forge his own place in this legacy simply by being himself and commanding acknowledgment. Subjecting his formative years to such insanely brilliant emcees as Ghostface Killah, MF Doom, and Freddie Foxx, Tone administers doses of lethal street venom with enough abstract adjectives to mash his way across the disjointed spectrum of “genres” and bludgeon the listener in the barrage, while bearing a vocal tone similar to Chief Kamachi.
Tone often chooses beats that make you feel like you have warped into a psychotic decaying street kingdom where he presides as Mayor and rap overlord, relying on distorted and obsolete sounds to splash the listener with a psychedelic vision of the way Tone sees his world; doused in dim lights, gutter slime, liquor, blood, and graffiti.
With an obsessive work ethic fueled by beer; Tone has waved the banner of the Green Llama collective proudly, appearing on several of their releases, specifically Dibiase’s “Llamaville”, Uncut Raw’s “Heavy Dose”, City Slick’s “Antique Black”, Decay “Unlikely Hero” & “Unlikely Villain”, among others. He has also released a few of his own projects such as “Beer for Breakfast” and the “Birth of Doggie Jones”. He will soon be unleashing more of your grimiest nightmares into the world in the forms of “Superhero Sandwiches” the album, a collaboration with Llama warp-out producer Vincent Price entitled “Only built for Timberland Boots”, and The Remarkable Mayor’s “The Campaign.

HaStyle (The Barber-Artist) was born and raised in the borough Queens (Flushing, NY). At the age of 12, HaStyle listened to his uncle’s boom box for the newest urban music. In the mid 1980’s, he kept his radio dial on hip hop stations that played Doug E Fresh, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, and KRS One songs. He was inspired by the various styles of flow from these, as well as many more rappers and groups. One day, he decided to rearrange his poetry writings into rhythmical patterned lyrics to match the songs he liked. Thus, forming the style he calls, ‘HaS’-style.
Shortly after graduating high school, HaStyle earned his Master’s License in Barbering, attended New York Technical College to study Art and Advertising, and began rapping in show cases across New York City. Teaming up with the underground rap group ‘DMO’ (Dead Men’s Organization), which consisted of Apani, Mike One, and LIFELONG, enabled HaStyle to expand and openly express his talents.
In the mid 1990’s, The DMO aired an underground radio show called ‘The Graveyard Shift’ in order to showcase their skills as well as break new records by, back then, underground artists such as Smiff N Wesson, Mobb Deep, Organized Konfusion, Faith Evans and many more. This was his first exposure to live radio and airtime.
An artist at heart, HaStyle pursues the art of rapping in order to promote his cartooning, barbering, and other endeavors. He wishes to make the world a better place through his music as well as encouraging people to be entrepreneurs. He combines the art of barbering and rhyme writing in order to embody a unique sound, setting him apart from the rest.

From the moment that Michael Eric Hill was born, he was different. Brooklyn hospital doctors told his parents that he would only live three weeks. A thyroid condition his mother had was believed to have been passed along to her son, but Odie Hill had faith. She not only believed her son would survive after spending three weeks hooked up to tubes in the hospital, but being a deeply religious woman, she also believed her son was meant for nothing less than greatness.
Raised in the neighborhood of Fort Greene, Brooklyn amidst such artists as Spike Lee, Chris Rock and Rakim, Michael was surrounded by an undeniable energy that he could not escape. At an early age, hip-hop not only found its way into his home, but into his blood. Throwing concerts for his toys by gathering them around the portable turntable in front of his Spiderman poster in the living room, young Michael would play a mixture of songs by U.T.F.O., Roxanne Shante, Rod Stewart and Rick Springfield. This varied selection of records would stay with him and help him develop his production and deejaying style in the future. However, it was not until the day his brother brought home the Run-DMC record “Sucker MCs” that his life forever changed.
Michael Hill later took on the name DJ Black Panther and began releasing Monthly underground hip-hop mixtapes at a time when independent music was not at the forefront. He was determined to carve his own path in the music industry. DJ Honda took notice to his tapes and started buying them directly to sell in Japan, furthering Panther’s name as well as his brand. After the release of a double mixtape, Panther had enough money to buy what would become his production weapon of choice, the MPC 200XL. In 2003 Black Panther put out his debut album “The Darkest Night Ever” on Third Earth Music. All 17 tracks received nothing but positive feedback and publicity from his fans and critics. The well-known website www.Allhiphop.com featured him in the “Breeding Ground” section and Elemental Magazine, Urb, XLR8, www.undergroundhiphop.com and more all agreed that a fresh new talent had emerged.
In 2005, after getting back behind the turntables at clubs Panther hit the studio to work on his sophomore album, “My Eternal Winter”. The project proved to be not just a follow up, but also a step above. “My Eternal Winter” has generated a lot of buzz for Black Panther through reviews and interviews from around the world. The second single from “My Eternal Winter“, entitled “The Half“, featured Grammy Award winning songstress Maya Azucena and peaked at the number 2 position on the internet music charts. Also with the release of the album, “My Eternal Winter” Panther started his digital music label Manekinekopro, which has released music from Respect Tha God (Perverted Monks, Jeru, Afu-Ra). Respect single “I Rap 4” recently topped the Charts on all the industry gauges (Rapattacklives, recordbreaker.com), Heatmakerz latest Release “Ra Jah Ru meets The Heatmakerz” also found a home on Manekinekopro. And most recently Manekinekopro records has been responsible for the ReEmergence of the legendary emcee NINE (Whatcha Want, Make or Take). Panther released “Shots Fired” by NINE(Brand Narcotic/Manekinekopro). However, do not get it wrong Black Panther is still very much a recording artist and he is Hard at work on his third offering entitled “The Soul Eater”, pack with surprises and his ever-evolving sound. The future holds many musical endeavors, and you may ask what is next? A full-length album with the Grammy Award winning singer Maya Azucena will be a great start.

Poet Substratum , a New Jersey native, began to love hip hop at a very young age. By the mid 90′s he was writing rhymes, djing, writing graffiti, and break dancing. It wasn’t until a few years later that Poet started to take his art more seriously, and began making his way into the New York and New Jersey underground hip hop scene. He performed at open mics at the legendary Nuyoricans Poets Cafe and battling in the famous Braggin Rites emcee battles. Poet started a journey that has continued for over a decade.
In 2002 Poet started to organize his own showcases and in 2004 co-founded the New Jersey based independent label Delinquent Soundz Entertainment. At that time Poet was partnered with fellow emcee Bolical Jenkins to form the group Written On Your Psyche. From 2004 to 2007 they released two albums and two 12″ vinyl singles under Delinquent Soundz. During those years Poet and Bolical performed all over New Jersey, New York, San Francisco, and Boston. Poet and Bolical who were no stranger to large venues opened up for artists such as CL Smooth, Pharoahe Monch, Prince Paul, RA The Rugged Man, and C-Rayz Walz.
Written On Your Psyche cordially parted ways musically in 2007 and Poet took a short absence, returning to the scene a year later with a solo project titled “All Of A Sudden” that featured guest appearances by members of the Delinquent Soundz family. 2008 also kicked off Da Sessions Hip Hop Showcase and Open Mic that is hosted by Poet and Respect Tha God (Perverted Monks). The showcases are still running strong and now are partnered with the Creative Juices Music family. Poet is now in the works of his next two solo releases while also helping out other artists under Delinquent Soundz with their projects.

Upon meeting Sammy Bravo, you know right away that his two decade career in Hip Hop has molded him into one of the greatest minds in the business – a force to be reckoned with on and off the mic. With razor sharp delivery on some of the hottest tracks created while building his multi-media entertainment group, Sammy Bravo is the quintessential go-getter.
Never using poverty as a crutch, Sammy overcame the death infused streets of Washington, DC. Against the backdrop of crime, poverty and violence buried deep in the heart of the most powerful city in the world, Sammy turned to hip hop to relieve the anguish and hopelessness surrounding him and in doing so provided the soundtrack for the city. His distinct voice and effortless delivery caught fire in DC and he soon joined The Beggas – part of the Wu Tang family. His career skyrocketed once the group was featured on Rza Presents: The Killa Beez (The Swarm Album). Sammy rose to international fame touring around the world.
Sammy’s success could’ve stopped there – but that wouldn’t be Sammy! Seeing a need to change the “status quo” of the music business, Sammy founded BancVault Entertainment Group. “I was tired of the experiences I faced when dealing with record companies…someone always wanted to be the middleman and it was difficult to speak to anyone regarding MY CAREER! So I decided to change that.” Says Sammy on why he decided to create BancVault. Since that decision, BancVault Entertainment Group has grown into a multi-media company encompassing all aspects of artists’ needs – EmageView (Video & Film): BancVault Records: 17th & B (Management): KraftWorks (Recording); YEURO (Clothing) and acrossthefader.com – a hip hop social networking website with streaming video and internet radio. Initially created to as a vehicle to give Sammy the reigns to take charge and steer his own career, Sammy created a path for younger artists to follow. Platforms where they can be seen, heard, and most importantly control their careers.
Always on the grind, always relevant and constantly evolving, Sammy Bravo knows that the future of hip hop in not in the hands of the record companies – hip hop’s future lies in the hands of artists like himself – whose dedication, hard work and love of the craft inspire the masses to live, love and dream. Sammy Bravo is a gifted emcee. The depths of his words awaken the conscious. His energy resonates throughout the venues during his live performances for an unforgettable experience. A legend in DC, Sammy is known and loved. Sammy Bravo is also a trailblazing entrepreneur. His website, television and internet radio shows are creating a blueprint for future artists to follow. Sammy Bravo is indeed the total package – Two decades in the making…and just beginning.
